Goals
The Network for Joint Democracy-Building in Early Childhood Education is committed to educational equity.
We have joined forces to drive change at all levels of early childhood education and to systematically eliminate discrimination. To this end, we are focusing on three key approaches:
Exchange
GeDAB connects stakeholders who previously had little opportunity to engage with one another. Experts from the fields of educational practice, administration, academia, and politics are working together to improve the early childhood education system. The network helps to ensure equitable access to high-quality education, civic education, participation, and fair educational opportunities within the early childhood education system. It provides guidance for policy-making processes and strengthens practitioners’ skills in dealing with diversity.
Visibility
We are raising public awareness of the issue of democracy education in daycare centers through social media activities, campaigns, and events. Our focus here is on participation, combating discrimination, and fostering the development of potential in a post-migrant society within the context of early childhood education.
Transformation
GeDAB drives change. Together, we are developing a set of action items with evidence-based recommendations for the academic community, policymakers, government agencies, and early childhood educators to promote democracy education and equitable access to childcare spots, and to break down barriers to participation in early childhood education.
