Dr. Seyran Bostancı

Dr. Seyran Bostancı founded the GeDAB network in October 2024 to put her research on institutional racism in daycare centers—and the recommendations for action derived from it—into practice. Its primary goal is to sustainably strengthen participation, reduce discrimination, and foster the full development of potential in a post-migrant society within the context of early childhood education.

For the past fifteen years, Dr. Bostancı has been working to combat discrimination, promote democratic education, and foster inclusive structures in early childhood education. She combines academic expertise with many years of practical experience—as a practice consultant, intersectional diversity trainer, speaker, and chair of the board of the Kinderwelten Institute.

She also worked as a research assistant at the National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa) at the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM). There, she was in charge of the area of education and racism—the foundation from which the GeDAB network emerged. She has been the executive director of the Schwarzkopf Foundation since December 2025.
