Goals

We have joi­ned forces to drive change at all levels of early child­hood edu­ca­tion and to sys­te­ma­ti­cally eli­mi­nate dis­cri­mi­na­tion. To this end, we are focu­sing on three key approaches: 

Exch­ange

GeDAB con­nects stake­hol­ders who pre­viously had little oppor­tu­nity to engage with one ano­ther. Experts from the fields of edu­ca­tio­nal prac­tice, admi­nis­tra­tion, aca­de­mia, and poli­tics are working tog­e­ther to improve the early child­hood edu­ca­tion sys­tem. The net­work helps to ensure equi­ta­ble access to high-qua­lity edu­ca­tion, civic edu­ca­tion, par­ti­ci­pa­tion, and fair edu­ca­tio­nal oppor­tu­ni­ties within the early child­hood edu­ca­tion sys­tem. It pro­vi­des gui­dance for policy-making pro­ces­ses and streng­thens prac­ti­tio­ners’ skills in deal­ing with diversity. 

Visi­bi­lity

We are rai­sing public awa­re­ness of the issue of demo­cracy edu­ca­tion in day­care cen­ters through social media acti­vi­ties, cam­paigns, and events. Our focus here is on par­ti­ci­pa­tion, com­ba­ting dis­cri­mi­na­tion, and fos­te­ring the deve­lo­p­ment of poten­tial in a post-migrant society within the con­text of early child­hood education. 

Trans­for­ma­tion  

GeDAB dri­ves change. Tog­e­ther, we are deve­lo­ping a set of action items with evi­dence-based recom­men­da­ti­ons for the aca­de­mic com­mu­nity, poli­cy­ma­kers, govern­ment agen­cies, and early child­hood edu­ca­tors to pro­mote demo­cracy edu­ca­tion and equi­ta­ble access to child­care spots, and to break down bar­riers to par­ti­ci­pa­tion in early child­hood education.
