Our Mis\u00adsion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Net\u00adwork for Joint Demo\u00adcracy-Buil\u00adding in Early Child\u00adhood Edu\u00adca\u00adtion (GeDAB) is com\u00admit\u00adted to iden\u00adti\u00adfy\u00ading bar\u00adriers to access to high-qua\u00adlity edu\u00adca\u00adtion for young child\u00adren and working to eli\u00admi\u00adnate them. The net\u00adwork advo\u00adca\u00adtes for early child\u00adhood edu\u00adca\u00adtion that focu\u00adses on demo\u00adcracy and par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adtion, con\u00adsis\u00adt\u00adently alig\u00adning its struc\u00adtures, resour\u00adces, and action plans with the UN Con\u00adven\u00adtion on the Rights of the Child, while taking into account the diverse living con\u00addi\u00adti\u00adons of child\u00adren and the vary\u00ading ways in which they are affec\u00adted by dis\u00adad\u00advan\u00adtage and dis\u00adcri\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion. Inclu\u00adsive, anti-dis\u00adcri\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtory, and demo\u00adcracy-streng\u00adthening approa\u00adches are essen\u00adtial, because edu\u00adca\u00adtion can only suc\u00adceed if dis\u00adcri\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtory struc\u00adtures are reco\u00adgni\u00adzed and dismantled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Approach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We con\u00adnect stake\u00adhol\u00adders, deve\u00adlop evi\u00addence-based recom\u00admen\u00adda\u00adti\u00adons for action, and work to struc\u00adtu\u00adrally embed edu\u00adca\u00adtio\u00adnal equity. In doing so, we inte\u00adgrate rese\u00adarch, prac\u00adtice, and policy, cri\u00adti\u00adcally ana\u00adlyze power dyna\u00admics and ine\u00adqua\u00adli\u00adties, and pro\u00admote demo\u00adcracy edu\u00adca\u00adtion as a cen\u00adtral com\u00adpo\u00adnent of early child\u00adhood edu\u00adca\u00adtion that is sen\u00adsi\u00adtive to discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The net\u00adwork pro\u00admo\u00adtes inter\u00addi\u00adsci\u00adpli\u00adnary exch\u00adange and rai\u00adses public awa\u00adre\u00adness of the issue, inclu\u00adding through the use of social media. GeDAB high\u00adlights struc\u00adtu\u00adral dis\u00adcri\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion in early child\u00adhood edu\u00adca\u00adtion, trans\u00adla\u00adtes sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic fin\u00addings into prac\u00adti\u00adcal gui\u00addance, and empowers stake\u00adhol\u00adders to act in ways that are sen\u00adsi\u00adtive to dis\u00adcri\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion and streng\u00adthen demo\u00adcracy.
Through net\u00adwor\u00adking and policy ana\u00adly\u00adsis, we help shift the terms of the debate and initiate struc\u00adtu\u00adral chan\u00adges to pro\u00admote grea\u00adter equity of oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity in early child\u00adhood education. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
