Our Mis\u00adsion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Net\u00adwork for Joint Demo\u00adcracy-Buil\u00adding in Early Child\u00adhood Edu\u00adca\u00adtion (GeDAB) is com\u00admit\u00adted to iden\u00adti\u00adfy\u00ading bar\u00adriers to access to high-qua\u00adlity edu\u00adca\u00adtion for young child\u00adren and working to eli\u00admi\u00adnate them. The net\u00adwork advo\u00adca\u00adtes for early child\u00adhood edu\u00adca\u00adtion that pro\u00admo\u00adtes demo\u00adcracy and par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adtion and con\u00adsis\u00adt\u00adently ali\u00adgns its struc\u00adtures, resour\u00adces, and action plans with the UN Con\u00adven\u00adtion on the Rights of the Child. In doing so, we take into account the children\u2019s dif\u00adfe\u00adrent living con\u00addi\u00adti\u00adons as well as the varied\u2014and in some cases multiple\u2014forms of dis\u00adad\u00advan\u00adtage and dis\u00adcri\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion they face, which can rein\u00adforce one ano\u00adther. Inclu\u00adsive approa\u00adches that chall\u00adenge dis\u00adcri\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion and streng\u00adthen demo\u00adcracy are essen\u00adtial, because edu\u00adca\u00adtion can only suc\u00adceed if struc\u00adtu\u00adral bar\u00adriers are iden\u00adti\u00adfied and eliminated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We take a multi-per\u00adspec\u00adtive approach and faci\u00adli\u00adtate dia\u00adlo\u00adgue among aca\u00adde\u00admia, prac\u00adti\u00adtio\u00adners, poli\u00adcy\u00adma\u00adkers, govern\u00adment agen\u00adcies, civil society, and the busi\u00adness com\u00admu\u00adnity to trans\u00adlate sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic fin\u00addings into action and break down bar\u00adriers to edu\u00adca\u00adtion. By crea\u00adting a nati\u00adon\u00adwide forum for pro\u00adfes\u00adsio\u00adnal exch\u00adange, con\u00adsul\u00adta\u00adtion, and know\u00adledge trans\u00adfer, we ensure that edu\u00adca\u00adtio\u00adnal equity is struc\u00adtu\u00adrally embedded. In addi\u00adtion, we sup\u00adport govern\u00adment agen\u00adcies and state-level initia\u00adti\u00adves in making access more under\u00adstan\u00adda\u00adble, relia\u00adble, and equi\u00adta\u00adble, because trust is built when insti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adons are acces\u00adsi\u00adble and take into account people\u2019s diverse life experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

GeDAB high\u00adlights where edu\u00adca\u00adtio\u00adnal bar\u00adriers exist and helps stake\u00adhol\u00adders make access to edu\u00adca\u00adtion more under\u00adstan\u00adda\u00adble, relia\u00adble, and equi\u00adta\u00adble. In this way, we help build trust bet\u00adween insti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adons and fami\u00adlies and drive struc\u00adtu\u00adral chan\u00adges that pro\u00admote grea\u00adter equity of oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity in early child\u00adhood edu\u00adca\u00adtion. Through net\u00adwor\u00adking and policy ana\u00adly\u00adsis, we bring key facts to the table in deba\u00adtes and sup\u00adport struc\u00adtu\u00adral impro\u00adve\u00adments. This leads to las\u00adting chan\u00adges in admi\u00adnis\u00adtra\u00adtive pro\u00adce\u00addu\u00adres, policy initia\u00adti\u00adves, orga\u00adniza\u00adtio\u00adnal struc\u00adtures, and edu\u00adca\u00adtio\u00adnal prac\u00adti\u00adces.
